Yes, I'm an addict!

Have you ever felt that urge and pleasure over what you eat?

Junk food has been one of my top favorites when eating.

Eating is one of my happiness, it’s my go to, my stress reliever... it helps me, but does it really?

As we eat junk food, the brain neurons pump out more and more dopamine, giving us a feeling of pleasure. When released, dopamine fits into a receptor in the brain, much like a key fit into a lock, and when the fit is right the pleasure is sensed.

Junk food is ranked as top 3 among 18 of the most addictive food in the world.

Food addiction involves being addicted to food in the same way as someone with a substance use disorder demonstrates addiction to a particular substance.

However, people don’t just become addicted to any food. Some foods are much more likely to cause symptoms of addiction than others.

High-fat, high-calorie foods overload the pleasure centers in the brain, much like cocaine and heroin. The more we eat these types of foods, the more we crave them to trigger these pleasure centers.

Just like substances, the pleasure we get from them are just temporary.

Pleasures and happiness should come naturally.

Do not depend your happiness over food. It will always be your choice, so choose healthy!
